🥁 Emerging Crypto Trends from Mainnet 2023

Mainnet 2023 this year was a blast. Our members got to network and learn from VC’s, investors, founders, builders, traders, and even politicians.

Started off the first night with the Cosmos party hosted by Outlier Ventures, Agoric, and more. We learned that there is much excitement around fast-growing Cosmos projects like Neutron, Nibiru, and Osmosis. Not to mention NFT marketplaces, NFT identity, and RWAs.

Day 1 of the conference was great. Visited each booth to learn what the makeup of projects were. Plenty of market makers, custodian solutions, accounting & tax solutions, and more.

The talks were also pretty interesting, focusing in on AI & regulation. Ryan Selkis moderated many of the high profile talks, including with Anthony Scaramucci and Vivek Ramaswamy.

Back on the exhibition floor, Worldcoin was onboarding new users with their famous/infamous orbs. We covered Worldcoin before in Lisbon, and this was another chance to see the orbs in person and see how they worked.

Coinbase had their Coinbase Cafe on the second floor, with their own set of specialized talks and to promote the “Stand with Crypto” campaign, which advocates for pro-crypto policy in DC.

At BEN we also share side events with all our members, and at Mainnet there were easily over 100. At the Cosmos Snap launch party, we learned more about MetaMask Snaps. Pretty incredible stuff, as this new technology will let MetaMask users switch more easily between non-EVM chains.

Closing off this post by highlighting one of our og BEN alum, Jelena Noble, who spoke at Mainnet. Her company, Noble, is supercharging Cosmos by allowing native asset issuance on-chain across the whole IBC ecosystem.
